OTT bluEdge featuring HyFuse is OTT's zero glue line technology that elevates edgebanding to an entirely new quality level. This process uses no conventional adhesive. Instead, the functional layer of the edge is thermally activated by a laser unit and fused directly to the board. The result is a completely invisible joint between edge and board - the so-called zero joint or zero-gap connection.
The bluEdge technology is designed as a retrofit option for all OTT edgebanding machines. Whether Pacific+, Tornado+, FlexEdge, Storm+, StrongEdge or TopEdge - the HyFuse laser unit can be integrated into any model. This allows operations to upgrade their existing machine to the premium segment without investing in a completely new installation.
Zero glue line edges are the current trend in furniture manufacturing and are increasingly demanded by end customers. The invisible connection between edge and board gives furniture a premium appearance that is not achievable with conventional adhesive technology. Unlike PUR joints, which are thin but still visible, the bluEdge connection merges completely with the board surface.
