The Gannomat Red Baron P is a proven, purely pneumatic dowel insertion machine for medium-duty carcass production. The P designation stands for the pneumatic drive variant: simple media, clear maintenance, no hydraulics. For many years the Red Baron has been running in European joinery shops and furniture workshops as a robust workhorse for mid-range daily outputs. Its strengths lie in longevity, simple mechanical construction and serviceability — even after years, wear parts can be replaced without proprietary electronics getting in the way. In workshops with two or three shifts, changing personnel and intensive continuous operation, the Red Baron P is a workhorse. Pneumatic components tolerate dust, temperature fluctuations and occasional operator errors — ideal where availability matters more than peak throughput.
Many joinery shops use the Red Baron P to replace an existing, ageing dowel machine. Layout, connections and operating philosophy remain familiar — the productivity jump comes from faster cycle times and higher reliability.
The Red Baron P is the pragmatic choice for operations relying on proven pneumatics and wanting to work without CNC or electronic load. For higher quantities, Express S2/S3 are recommended; if CNC flexibility is needed, the Express S1 CNC or Vector CNC.
