The UniWood UWL 3S is the perfect complement for handling panels at the edge-banding machine. The single-suction design allows flexible handling of varied panel sizes with 90° tipping.
The Barbaric UWL-3S is the special version of the UWL-3 for operations that regularly handle thin, soft or porous panel materials in the medium to large load class. It combines the proven load class of the UWL-3 with specially developed suction plate technology that reliably holds on sensitive and open-pored surfaces. Typical applications include oil-finished worktops, veneers on MDF carriers, thin composite panels, acoustic panels or sandwich-style lightweight elements. Unlike the UWL-1S — which is designed for smaller loads — the UWL-3S covers the full size and weight class of large furniture and door manufacturers. Integrated monitoring detects leakage faster and reliably warns the operator. Oil-impregnated surfaces form a slight pore structure that draws air from standard suction cups. The UWL-3S still holds securely because the suction plate compensates leakage via a reservoir. This positions even high-value solid wood worktops without slipping.
Lightweight panels with honeycomb core and thin face layers react sensitively to point suction forces — they dent or break. The UWL-3S distributes force over a sufficiently large area while retaining the full UWL-3 load capacity, so even very large panels are moved safely.
The UWL-3S is the choice when you need to handle sensitive or open-pored materials in the weight class of a UWL-3. For solid, coated standard panels, the UWL-3 is sufficient. If you have a smaller operation with only occasional thin-panel handling, the UWL-1S is more cost-effective. For very large industrial panels or heavy doors, choose the UWL-5. The UWL-3S uses a different suction plate design with increased vacuum reservoir and finer-tuned sealing geometry. The base load class matches the UWL-3, but the UWL-3S can pick up panels that would tear off a standard device.
In many cases yes — the suction plate unit can be exchanged in the field. Asamer checks the condition of your device and supplies matching special suction plates. Control and frame remain unchanged.
Operation is identical to the UWL-3 — a short instruction from Asamer on the special suction behavior and new warnings is sufficient. Existing operators can take over the device without full retraining.
