In Detail

The Barbaric RWL Rack-Lifter is a vacuum lifter designed specifically for removing and placing parts in racks. While classic vacuum lifters grip panel material from stacks, the RWL manoeuvres inside rack compartments and removes individual panels or small parts from defined levels. It is typical in edgebander feeding, commissioning at panel traders or loading coating lines. The RWL combines a deep-reach telescopic gripper with precise position guidance — the rack slot is approached to the millimetre, the part is picked up and pulled out. This eliminates rack ladders, search times and wrongly removed panels. The RWL is the solution for operations whose material flow is organised rack-based. Asamer supplies and integrates Rack-Lifter systems in Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary — including rack layout planning, PLC integration and safety inspection.

Applications

For commissioning at panel traders

Panel traders with a broad décor range typically store individual panels in vertical or slanted racks. The RWL removes ordered panels fully automatically and places them on picking carts or loading areas — without forklifts and without search effort.

For edgebander and coating line feeding

At the edgebander or coating line, workpieces are often supplied from intermediate rack storage. The RWL automates this feed, keeps the cycle constant and relieves the machine operator — particularly valuable in multi-shift operation.

Buying Guide

The RWL is the right choice when your material is organised rack-based and you want to automate retrieval. For stack-based storage, the UWL-3 or a flat-layout storage (CSF) is more suitable. Before quoting, Asamer reviews your rack concept and calculates achievable cycle times.

FAQ

How deep can the RWL reach into a rack?

Standard telescopic grippers cover rack depths up to about 1.2 metres; special designs go further. Dimensioning is based on your specific rack system and stored formats.

Do I need to rebuild the rack?

In most cases, adaptations suffice — defined support points, clear slot separation and reference marks. Existing racks can be reused in 70 – 80 % of cases. Asamer documents the necessary adaptations in the project concept.

Can the RWL communicate with my ERP/WMS?

Yes — the PLC controller offers standard interfaces for common ERP and warehouse management systems. Orders are handed over digitally, confirmations flow back automatically into the ERP. Asamer coordinates integration with your IT team.
