The TMP door manipulator automates CNC machine feeding and stacking of processed doors. Fast and compact systems for higher productivity and reduced operator workload.
The Barbaric TMP buffer conveyor decouples stations in a production line — so that short stoppages at one machine do not block the entire material flow. The TMP picks up finished workpieces from an upstream station (e.g. edgebander or drilling automat), buffers them in between and hands them over to the downstream station as needed. This significantly increases overall line availability: instead of all machines standing still when one stops, the others continue working as long as the buffer contains material or has space. Typical buffer capacities are 20–50 workpieces depending on configuration and workpiece size. For industrial furniture production lines and suppliers with linked processes, the TMP is an economical element for increasing availability. Asamer plans and supplies TMP buffer conveyors for CZ, SK and HU — including control integration.
Applications
For linked production lines
In a chain of edgebander, drilling automat and paint line, the availability of the overall system is the product of individual availabilities — a TMP buffer conveyor between stations cancels this calculation and raises line availability from typically 85 % to over 95 %.
To decouple different cycle times
Adjacent machines often work at different cycle times: the edgebander is faster than the downstream drilling automat, or vice versa. The TMP buffers this difference and allows each machine to run at its optimal operating point — without mutual blockage.
Buying Guide
The TMP is always economical when two or more machines are linked and one machine regularly has short stops (tool change, refilling, operator intervention). In multi-shift production, the TMP typically pays off within one year through higher line availability. Asamer calculates ROI based on your availability data.
FAQ
How large can buffer capacity be designed?
Typically between 20 and 50 workpieces; with special versions significantly more. Capacity depends on expected downtime of the critical machine and the cycle difference — typical rule of thumb: 10 minutes buffer in regular operation.
Are parts stored sorted in the buffer?
The TMP buffers on a FIFO (first in, first out) basis — parts leave the buffer in the order in which they entered. On request, multi-path buffers can also be realised that sort parts onto different tracks depending on target machine.
Is the TMP integrated into the line control?
Yes — the TMP is integrated via PLC interface into the overarching line control. Thus the system knows at all times how full the buffer is and can prioritise requests to upstream and downstream stations accordingly.
