The SSY light-running rail system with steel bridges is easily movable by hand and covers bridge lengths up to 8 m. All trolleys are equipped with side guide rollers.
The Barbaric SSY rail system is a linear vacuum crane system for straight material flows in production lines and pass-through storage. Instead of covering a work area across its surface (like a column slewing crane or truss bridge), the vacuum lifter moves along a single ceiling-mounted rail axis between two or more fixed stations. This is ideal when material is transported from a source to a destination — for example, from panel saw to edgebander, from storage to packaging, or between two machining stations. The SSY is cheaper than a truss bridge, easier to install and requires less hall height. Rail lengths well beyond 30 metres are possible. Asamer engineers rail systems for production lines and pass-through storage in Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary — including structural statics, electrical supply and safety acceptance.
Applications
For production lines with defined stations
Typical application: the panel saw is at one end of the hall, the edgebander at the other. The SSY connects both and handles transport — precisely, quickly and without forklifts. This reduces personnel needs and makes material supply takt-ready.
For pass-through storage and dispatch
In pass-through storage with clear material flow direction (goods receipt → storage area → dispatch), the SSY rail forms the logical centre of the process. Panels are picked directly from goods receipt, placed sorted in storage and later transported to the loading ramp — without storage handovers.
Buying Guide
Choose the SSY rail system when your material flow is primarily linear. If a larger area needs to be flexibly covered, a truss bridge (2D or 3D) is more suitable. The SSY can later be extended with branches or handover points — but with reduced flexibility compared to a true area solution.
FAQ
What is the maximum rail length?
Typical versions cover 10 to 30 metres. For longer runs, coupled rail sections with segment handovers are possible — Asamer plans mechanical and electrical transitions individually.
Does the SSY need a conductor bar?
Yes — power and control signals are carried along the rail via a conductor line or cable chain. Dimensioning depends on rated current, signal type and hall IP protection class.
Can the SSY later be extended to a 2D bridge?
Not as a direct conversion — the structures differ significantly. In practice, the SSY remains as linear transport, and an additional truss bridge is added if needed. The control software can manage both systems.
