In Detail

The Barbaric SSK column slewing crane is a stationary vacuum crane for regular handling of heavy panel materials in wood and furniture production. It combines a slewing arm with the proven Barbaric vacuum system and typically covers a semicircle of several metres radius — ideal for loading a panel saw, CNC worktable or storage area. The operator guides the load contact-free and can position heavy panels precisely with one hand. Column slewing cranes are a cost-effective alternative to fully automatic panel storage when regular individual movements are required rather than continuous material supply. Asamer plans SSK systems for joinery shops in CZ, SK and HU including foundation design and safety acceptance.

Applications

For joinery shops with varying formats

In joinery shops working with various panel formats, the SSK is the ideal solution: every panel can be flexibly retrieved from storage and brought to the workstation. For fixed material flows, a conveyor system is more suitable.

For cutting and formatting workstations

At panel saw, CNC or mill, the SSK positions even large formats with millimetre precision on the worktable. This eliminates lifting operations that regularly cause back problems in manual handling.

Buying Guide

Choose the SSK if you need to regularly handle large or heavy panels at a fixed workstation. For covering entire halls, truss bridges (2D/3D) or rail systems (SSY) are the right solution.

FAQ

What radius is possible?

Typical slewing radii are between 3 and 6 metres. Larger versions are available on request but require correspondingly dimensioned foundations.

Do we need a special foundation?

Yes — the crane post requires a reinforced concrete foundation according to load and bending stress. Asamer prepares the foundation plan and coordinates with your building planner.

Can the SSK be electrically slewed?

The standard SSK is slewed by hand — the load is weight-relieved. Electric slewing is available as an option and is recommended for very large radii or heavy loads.
